In the previous section we looked at Design. In this section we will look at the Design Process.
Here is an example of a customised design process for a website skin.
We have chosen to use the services of our good friend, Spiro Nidelkos from the the sponge (www.thesponge.com.au) to help us with the look and feel of our website.
Step 1 - Corporate Identity
Spiro started us out with a questionnaire focused on where we wanted to go with this project. This was followed up with a a discussion on our short and long term goals, mission statement, themes, needs, target market demographics etc. Most of this stuff was in our business plan.
Step 2 - Concepts
Spiro presented us with alternatives based on his interpretation of our requirements. Here are two examples:

Concept 1 Rationale
Solution:
Modular Information
Aspiration:
Directional, modular & energetic without being confronting. The suggestion of perspective gives the logo depth. Symbolic of the name "Websuburb", this identity reinforces the benefits provided by technology.
Colours:
The cool blue establishes trust while the greys contribute to a contemporary feel.

Concept 2 Rationale
Solution:
Webpages
Aspiration:
A progression of the Jobcube square to a solid and sophisticated new direction. Symbolising multiple webpages linked from a Websuburb website.
Colours:
A deeper blue derived from the existing Jobcube logo.
Suggesting an existing history inherited in this new identity.

The next step was for Spiro to design a web page based on our choice of corporate theme. He has done this by way of example i.e.
