  1. What is RSS feed?

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a standard format used to publish content.

RSS therefore requires 2 parties, the publisher and the subscriber.

The News Feed module is a RSS subscription module.

The News Feed module needs 2 pieces of information:

The data source (I.e. details of the publisher)

Stylesheet (I.e. how to display the content)

  2. Step 1 - Add the module to the page

Select the News Feed module from the module functions drop down list and click on the Add link

  3. Step 2 - The newsfeed source

Clcik on the Edit Newsfeed link

Enter the URL of the data source.

NB! Be sure not to enter the URL of the current page. This will cause an infinite loop in your DotNetNuke portal and cause problems with your website.

  4. Step 3 - The Style Sheet

Add the reference to the stylesheet. The stylesheet controls the formatting of the data. Generally the stylesheet will be a file on your own website server.

NB! Be sure not to enter the URL of the current page. This will cause an infinite loop in your DotNetNuke portal and cause problems with your website.
